Matariki

In the sky are the Matariki stars. This celebrathon(celebration) is very popular  in Maori tridishen  (tradition)   Matariki is the start of the Maori New year. The celebrations last up to three days.

We are learning about the seven sisters.

What we did  to celebrate matariki

I really enjoyed matariki we calibrated(celebrated) it in a really fun way we built kites we painted the seven sisters.We nited them with wool.we made them out of plastic.We raed books about them.and made them out of food.

I am proud of my work because I stretched my learning muscles a long way in the kite making tieing knotsThe learning muscle I used was
focusing.

Something that challenged me was the knots in the kites because they did not stay tied up.we used flax and bamboo too shape the kite. 

Te Mata

Te Mata legend         

The village was being terrorized  by Te Mata o  Rongokako the giant.

Te Mata o Rongokarko challenged them in a battle but Then the ‘chief made his daughter be in love with the giant

So there can be peace in the land and the war can stop.Afterwords him and  henerako walked over the hill to Te Mata o Rongokako when they reached the beach henerako fell deeply in love with him and he fell deeply in love with her.After the chief got back the people of the mare where still angry for stealing their food and burning their houses.Next the chief had an idea, he said to him if you wish to marry my doughter you will have to bite a path through the hill to Waimarama so we can visit her whenever we wish. He loved her so much that he said OK;

When he got to the last activity he said my teeth are as strong as diamonds. He bit through the mountain but then something bad happened he bit straight through a big hard rock he swallowed and swallowed but he could not breath.Than he fell down and died.   

something that challenged me was the spelling I had to keep restarting to sound out the words.

I am proud of my work because it took a lot of determination and I have detaili I wrote what he could see and hear and feel.

The learning muscle I was stretching was my learning quietly because I wanted to get it done good. That is maneging distractons. I really enjoyed writing this because it sounded interesting.

Art

I have been learning to overlap on art to blend the colors.Over laping the colors was very hard because if I smudged it it would go all yuck.
Something that challenged me was doing the path and not smudging the colors everywhere.
I made my artwork look the best I could to make it look far away by making the path smaller.
I really enjoyed doing this fun art because it was with messy pastel I mean oil pastel.
Something I can do next time is put even more effort into my work so I can make my work better because I did get distracted.
I really like doing art because it is fun.

Ice-cream

WALT write instructions for the reader to follow

Do you like milk? I do.

Did you know you can use milk to make, banana milkshakes and chocolate and ice cream? Speaking of ice-cream I am going to teach you how to make your own homemade ice-cream.

Equipment:

2 zip lock bags (1 large 1m small)

You need 30g of sugar

1 cups of salt

Ice

2 cups of milk

¼ of a cap of vanilla essence

How to make homemade ice-cream

1. Pour ice carefully into the large zip lock bag
2. Tip the salt into the large zip lock bag with the ice (the salt makes the ice colder)
3. Pour the milk into the smaller ziplock bag
4. Add 30g of white sugar into the small ziplock bag
5. Drip half a Cap of vanilla essence in the small zip lock bag  
6. Zip both of the zip lock bags up and violently shake the large zip lock bag
7. We put it in the ice for 2 minutes and made it colder and we ate the delicious ice-cream

The ice -cream is so good you might want to make 2 packets! You should put some good toppings on it.serve it up in a delicious way.

I have been learning about verbs verbs are like sitting standing and learning about putting good perseverance into my work.and i had to make sure my ingredients were in order.

1. I have been learning to make a mistake you can try new strategy's of learning to fix it.
2. I am proud of my learning because `all of this is true.
3. I re read to check if I had any mistakes and I changed the vocabulary for better words.My Nan and granddad were proud of me for making this and printing it and bringing it home.

My Prototype

The proplom was other people want to have more fun in the bush.I was trying to make something so other people can have more fun then every one else in the bush
This is my prototype.I have made this because every one would love to have fun  in a tree house with
 a tire swing and a flying fox.
I am proud of my learning because it is an interesting thing to make and when it did not work I tryd (tried)over and over and over again

Some of the questions I asked were
Should  I have a tire swing?
How can I make a log and stick it to A really really really strong rope? is my fun in the bush contraption safe for other people?
Should I have A bridge?
How will I get the Resources?

I am proud of my work because it is going to be very interesting for other little  kids to have fun and very big to play in. I made it safe by making it stable and strong.

Something that challenged me was building it because I had to try over and over and over agian(again)

Camp Omatua

 Something that challenged me was was me zooming down the water slide  and splashing in the mud and getting it om my face and hair .

Something that made me laugh was Mrs Ramsay doing a funny face.

One of the most coolest activity was the river because of the clay slide.
It was cool because of me climbing up the slippery clay and sliding down into the freezing water.It hurt because the clay was bumpy.

My favorite part of camp was the fear factor because it was scary but not for the girls because they got sprite and lollies.

My biggest achievement was getting a lolly at the water  slide. because i made it and i went on the mud so thats why i got it I got it at first try
